We seek a skilled, experienced professional to to deliver early intervention counselling, case management, group work & other empowering supports for young people aged 10-21 and their families.

Position is 28-35hrs per week (neg.) and will cover the Georges River, Bayside, Sutherland LGAs & surrounds of South East Sydney through outreach in schools and the community. Role is based in Brighton-le-sands which has a vibrant beachside and culturally diverse, cafe culture.

ESSENTIAL criteria:

  • Skills/experience in providing direct support to young people at risk aged 10 -21 & their families, including young people with mental health concerns, safety & wellbeing concerns, and/or young people who have disengaged from family & education; and/or at-risk of homelessness
  • Skills/experience in case management, counselling and family support (using evidence-based interventions)
  • Skills/experience in designing & implementing psychoeducational group work, including ability to address specific needs for youth at risk such as emotional regulation, mental health, healthy relationships
  • Skills/experience in working with diverse identities and cultures, including people who are culturally & linguistically diverse, First Nations, LGBTIQA+ &/or with disabilities
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in social/human services (degree level), with subjects relevant to the position
  • Strong ability & commitment to teamwork, including ability to build strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders, an ability to work independently (whilst maintaining accountability)
  • Excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills, including IT literacy
  • Commitment to social justice principles
  • NSW drivers licence & own comprehensively insured car able to be used for work

DESIRABLE criteria:

  • Prior experience in Reconnect program, school wellbeing role, family/domestic violence service, or similar

Salary:

Excellent Salary package includes base salary, Salary packaging option, plus super. Paid clinical external supervision is also offered.
