Gender and Disaster Australia (GADAus) is the leading national organisation offering evidence-based education, training and resources to address the harmful impacts of gendered expectations in disaster. The GADAus Project Officer plays a key role in supporting the implementation of Gender and Disaster Australia’s national programs. This position provides essential coordination and administrative support to ensure the effective implementation of government-funded projects and assists the leadership team in achieving grant objectives. Key responsibilities include stakeholder management and consultancy work, organising events and evacuation centre training sessions, and managing key project administration tasks such as scheduling, report writing, travel and logistics, and budget tracking and reporting.
GADAus is seeking a highly organised and self-motivated candidate with strong project coordination and administrative skills, capable of independently managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines. The ideal applicant will be a highly effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills, proficiency in IT and communications, and a commitment to the vision and values of Gender and Disaster Australia.

The GADAus Project Officer is a part-time position:
Year 1: 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours per week)
Year 2: 0.5 FTE (19 hours per week), with additional hours dependent on funding.
The position offers a highly competitive remuneration of $94,426 per annum (plus the applicable superannuation rate) for 30.4 hours per week in Year 1 (equivalent to a full-time salary of $118,033 plus superannuation).
In Year 2, the position is currently offered at 19 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours subject to available funding.
The position includes 4 weeks (pro rata) holiday and leave loading, and an additional (3) days leave between Christmas and New Year.
GADAus is based in Victoria but does not maintain a physical office space. Permanent remote working arrangements are in place for all staff.
