Sunrise Health Service is seeking several full-time Remote Area Nurses to join their dedicated multidisciplinary team in Katherine, NT.

These positions are responsible for providing general health care, assessment, and treatment of a broad range of clinical problems to achieve positive outcomes in overall levels of health and well-being within the community.

Your primary responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Working with other members of the Sunrise Primary Health Care team to meet identified needs;
  • Providing accident and emergency care, including emergency first aid, stabilisation, and evacuation of patients;
  • Assisting with the identification of health trends and gaps in service delivery within the community;
  • Supporting the provision of specialist care, including substance abuse, nutritional, and mental health care;
  • Consulting with community groups on matters relating to the health needs and cultural approaches of the community;
  • Building the capacity of Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP) staff to provide the highest possible standard of culturally appropriate health care; and
  • Liaising with AHP staff, doctors, and nurses to facilitate tracing and treatment of patients moving between communities, homelands, and out-stations.
