Meaningful Work: Success is about Passion, Not Genius

What makes people really successful? Does having passion for your job really make a difference to how well you'll do it, or is it all about your innate abilities after all?

Author Malcolm Gladwell talks about meaningful work in this clip from the Dreamforce conference in San Francisco.  His recent book "Outliers" argues that it's commitment and passion, rather than genius, that really makes successful people successful.

In short, he reckons

When you throw your heart and mind and soul into something, you get something back. Now, in my book I call that notion, that belief that effort brings reward, meaningful work. And when you look at the lives of people who are really successful, what you see over and over again is this idea of meaningful work is imbedded in their consciousness.
