We donated $94,000 to small NFPs in 2017

As one of Australia’s top job-search sites for the not-for-profit sector and beyond, EthicalJobs.com.au supports the work of more than 4,000 organisations around the country, and have a passionate community of around 200,000 unique users visiting the site each month.

As a social enterprise, EthicalJobs.com.au is also committed to supporting Australian organisations that are working to make the world a more just, equitable and sustainable place.

We do this primarily by helping more than 4,000 Australian NFP organisations, charities and social enterprises to find the very best staff and volunteers.

But we also make regular donations throughout the year to a handful of small community organisations that are 'working for a better world'.

As a result, as of January 2018, we’ve donated over $325,00 to 91 different Australian organisations since EthicalJobs.com.au was founded in 2009.

Giving in 2017

In 2017 we continued our “matched donations” initiative committed to match every dollar donated by the EthicalJobs.com.au community, up to $15,000, to each chosen organisation.

Over full 2017 year, EthicalJobs.com.au donated a total of $94,000 to five different organisations working across a range of issues and geographic areas.

We were also able to encourage our community to donate over $65,000 of their own funds to be matched by ours.

That brings the total donated by us and our community to more than $150,000 in 2017 alone.

Our recipient organisations in 2017 were:

  • One Girl – who are on a mission to educate 1 million girls across Africa.
  • 350.org Australia – who are moving Australia beyond fossil fuels.
  • Human Rights Law Centre – who are an independent not-for-profit that protects and promotes human rights in Australia and Australian activities overseas.
  • Sea Shepherd Australia – who are on a mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.
  • The Australia Institute – one of the country’s most influential and progressive think tanks.

We’re so proud of the impact our community is able to have – and also thankful for the ongoing generosity of our jobseekers!
