ABOUT THIS ROLE

YWCA Australia is currently seeking a dedicated Youth and Community Engagement Officer to join our Service Delivery Team. This role is offered on a part time (30 hours per fortnight) basis on a maximum term contract ending on 30 June 2025 and is based in our Broken Hill office.

To strengthen networking relationships with service providers and related stakeholders in order to develop, deliver and tailor programs that inspire young women in secondary education to succeed in school and to actively plan for their future post school. Furthermore, increasing young people’s knowledge about their community and the services available to them.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:

  • Qualifications in Welfare, Youth or a related field (Cert IV and above).
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people and communities
  • Experience working with at-risk young people and demonstrated understanding of issues facing young people at risk.
  • Ability to engage and develop relationships with community agencies, government and business
  • Demonstrated experience in measurably assisting disengaged young people to remain in school and or participate in further education.
  • Proven ability to meet outcomes and key performance indicators
  • Ability to write and create reports with sound level written and oral communication skills
  • Current NSW Driver’s License

This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily complete a national criminal history record check and hold the relevant state based working with vulnerable persons permit prior to employment.
