Youth Projects is an Australian-based independent, registered charity who recognise the complex and varying needs of our clients and offer a holistic model of care and provide pathways into our award-winning employment, education and social enterprise programs.

Located at two sites (Hosier Lane and the vibrant Northern region of Melbourne) Youth Projects provides front line support to individuals experiencing disadvantage, unemployment, homelessness, alcohol and other drug issues and young people looking to re-engage with learning and employment.

About the Role

Youth Projects is now on the hunt for a dynamic ‘Outreach & Harm Reduction Program Manager’ to manage our suite of harm reduction and outreach programs and be part of the Senior Leadership Team. This role will see them work across both operational and strategic initiatives within the harm prevention and AOD Outreach programs. These programs are:

  • Needle Syringe Programs
  • Proactive Overdose Response Initiative
  • Youth AOD Outreach programs (YNOT and YNOT 2.0)

As this is a unique role you will have demonstrated in past:

  • Achieving high performance and growth through innovative program design and contract management
  • Providing leadership in developing strategic partnerships and shared care models, whilst positioning Youth Projects as a leader in the community health sector
  • Managing and leading a team mix of clinical and non-clinical staff, monitoring and evaluating program performance
  • Develop best practice frameworks across all Harm Reduction and Youth AOD programs

Ideal candidate will possess:

  • Recognised qualifications in health promotion, AOD, Community health or related disciplines
  • Demonstrated organisational skills within multidisciplinary health service environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex and changing environment
  • Wanting to grow, develop, and build a career with a progressive organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team of professional staff
  • Computer literacy as well as knowledge of VADC and NMDS data set
