A Bit About Us:

JMC Academy is one of Australia's leading education providers dedicated to the education, development and training of students who are passionate about pursuing a career in the creative industries.

JMC Academy Melbourne Campus, is located in South Melbourne. We are currently undergoing an exciting period of development at JMC, and seeking a contract trainer and assessors to deliver and assess accredited training in our vocational program CUA31015: Certificate III in Screen and Media in 2022. This position will be primarily based on Brunswick though there may be further opportunity at our South Melbourne Campus in the future.

The students recruited through our partner organisation, Youthworx, will be young people, aged 16 to 25, who are at risk of or are currently experiencing hardship or disadvantage.

The hourly rate will be $55 plus Super and will involve 5 hrs a day for 3 days a week (Mondays, Tuesday, and Wednesday). There is some flexibility with the way hours are organised through the week but at this time the priority teaching days are Monday and Tuesday with some teaching also required on Wednesdays. Planning and assessment hours will be negotiated.

Key Selection Criteria:

All of JMC's Trainer-Assessors are also industry professionals.

All Trainer-Assessors employed or contracted by JMC must hold the minimum qualification requirements set out in the training packages or accredited course statement that they are engaged to teach and assess.

The minimum requirements must include:

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or mapped and demonstrated equivalence.
  • Relevant qualification being taught (or mapped and demonstrated equivalence) and/or
  • Current Vocational competencies at least to the level being assessed.
  • Industry experience must be relevant to the units of competence being delivered and assessed.
  • A valid Working with Children check for Victoria and police check is also essential. Having one of each, or being willing to obtain them, is necessary.
