Evolving to meet the community need since 1988 Youth Futures is one of WA’s oldest and largest youth specialist organisations and currently provides 30 programs and services across three core streams: Homelessness, Education and Training, and Wellbeing and Support. We believe that all young people matter, regardless of the circumstances they find themselves in and aim to empower young people to take control of their future by offering them the holistic support and opportunities they need to thrive.

We are seeking our first HR Business Partner to help us grow and develop our people and culture. With over 80 staff across 13 locations, it’s time for us to take the next step in our organisation’s growth and development and employ a HR Business Partner to support and develop our workforce. The position is part time, 20hr per week.

Your Role:  

  • Work with the Board and CEO to be our values and culture champion and assist in embedding behaviours across our organisation that fosters a vibrant professional culture
  • Effectively manage different cultures and workforce generations; x-y-z, proactivity building an inclusive and diverse workplace culture
  • Ensure important decisions are made in consideration of people and culture, assessing impacts and risks
  • Develop and drive a workforce Training and Development Program including the enrichment of our people
  • The capability to influence and negotiate with a multidisciplinary team and build productive relationships across Programs and Services
  • You will coach and influence Managers. Drive best practice in HR; manage employee relations; support talent strategies
  • In consultation with the CEO, develop and implement HR strategies including implementation and review of effective performance appraisals processes and other initiatives aligned with our organisation’s values.
  • Review and manage existing employment contracts and undertake the range of functions related to recruitment, selection and appointment as required, consistent with contemporary HR management practices and industry awards.
  • Oversee HR and OHS compliance and undertake general HR related administrative tasks.
  • Be responsible for succession planning and assist in designing and managing our HR strategic plan to build a collaborative team

What you’ll need to make the shortlist:

  • Be a highly experienced HR professional with 5+ years’ proven insight and expertise
  • It is desirable that you have tertiary qualification (diploma minimum) in human resources, business management, law, employee relations or a related discipline.
  • You will be a strong HR generalist with extensive experience in the full employee lifecycle.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships that support professional development.
  • Work effectively as an individual and as a member of a team who operate within a multidisciplinary framework.
  • Demonstrate having executed performance management processes, technical recruitment and HR projects on your own

Possess or be willing to obtain:

  • Valid National Police Clearance.
  • Valid Working with Children's Check.

Youth Futures/Comet/Youth Futures Community School are registered charities and can offer very attractive Fringe Benefits opportunities including salary sacrifice/packaging. The full time base rate for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 depending on qualifications and relevant experience. The position is part time, 20hr per week (Flexible hours and days).
