Our iconic Kids Helpline Service is opening a site in Sydney! We’re looking for highly skilled and passionate Counselling Centre Team Leaders to join our new team in Western Sydney.

Kids Helpline is Australia’s only free, private and confidential 24/7 counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25. Since 1991, Australia’s kids and young people have been turning to our professional, specialised counsellors, no matter who they are, where they live or what they want to talk about. Over this time, we have responded to over 8 million contacts. For some young people, connecting with Kids Helpline has been a life-saving experience, while for others it’s about practical help and emotional support at the critical moment they need someone to listen.

We are excited to announce that we are opening a new Kids Helpline Service in Western Sydney. To support our new service, we are recruiting 4 x Counselling Centre Supervisors / Team Leaders to join our Western Sydney team. Counselling Centre Team Leaders provide direct line management and supervision to our counsellors and support all aspects of crisis response and case coordination.

To be considered for this opportunity you will hold a university degree level qualification in psychology, social work, counselling or equivalent (e.g. social or behavioural sciences) together with a minimum of five years’ practice experience. You will have demonstrated capacity to efficiently manage the operational, technical and human resources of complex professional counselling services within a shift work environment. You will be passionate about supporting children and young people to have brighter futures.

Your role as Team Leader is a permanent full time position, which will see you work 38 hours per week over a range of shifts across a service that spans between 8am to midnight, 7 days a week. To support you in your new role you will receive two weeks’ induction training in Brisbane commencing 23rd March 2020 which is essential to attend.
