About the role

Reporting to the Clinical Governance Specialist, the Project Officer – Safeguarding and Risk is responsible for developing procedures and tools in response to our Safeguarding Risk Assessment Management Plan to protect the children, young people and adults who access yourtown services. Some of your immediate priorities will involve collaboration with yourtown program staff and managers to:

  • Develop a working with clients safeguarding toolkit
  • Develop processes and procedures for managing the safeguarding risk of provider and contractor agencies
  • Review current client services procedures, forms and templates to improve and consolidate for application across all client services programs.

About you

You will have a strong eye for detail and proven skills in writing reports, briefings, processes and procedures. In addition you will possess:

  • University level qualifications in human services or associated fields and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Comprehensive understanding of ethical practice and safeguarding
  • Understanding of the National Child Safe Principles and relevant state and federal standards
  • Well-developed interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to influence and liaise across a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Experience within the human services delivery system, with particular reference to services for children and young people.

This position will initially be appointed on a 12 month contract basis.
