Principal Advisor - Complex Mental Health

In this newly created position, the Principal Advisor – Complex Mental Health will develop a best practice framework within Kids Helpline and other yourtown programs to respond to children and young people presenting with complex mental health concerns. As a subject matter expert, you will provide specialist advice to the broader organisation in regards to national and international best practice for responding to low prevalent, high risk, complex and comorbid mental health presentations.

You will develop policies, procedures and practice frameworks to uplift the organisational capacity to respond to children and young people with complex mental health concerns and will act as a key advisor to service delivery staff.

About you:

You will have postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field and at least 5 years’ experience working with young people with high risk, complex and comorbid mental health presentations. Along with demonstrated expertise in the application of counselling interventions targeted to complex mental health conditions, you will have demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to guide and coach others to build knowledge and capacity. You will demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to engage with and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
