Principal Advisor - Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation

In this newly created position, the Principal Advisor – Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation will develop a best practice framework within Kids Helpline to respond to children and young people who have been, or are at risk of being, sexually abused or exploited. As the subject matter expert, you will provide specialist advice to the broader organisation in regards to national and international best practice for the prevention of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation. You will develop new and innovative interventions, resources and frameworks and will act as a key advisor to service delivery staff. You will establish and facilitate a Community of Practice with experts in the field to build cross sector knowledge and enhance practice.

About you:

You will have postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field and at least 5 years’ experience supporting victims of childhood exploitation and abuse. Along with a strong child protection background, you will have demonstrated expertise in the issues relating to child sexual exploitation and sound understanding of attachment and trauma theories. You will demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to engage with and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
