Lead Evaluator

Reporting to the Evaluation Manager, the Lead Evaluator will help guide yourtown evaluation services to improve the delivery of services and the achievement of demonstrable outcomes for clients, using strategic and evidence-based practice. In addition to this you will: 

  • Design, lead, and/or conduct complex evaluations in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage evaluation strategies and approaches; and develop and monitor evaluation frameworks, theories of change, program logics and performance frameworks.
  • Collect and analyse quantitative and qualitative data using advanced statistical and qualitative techniques and systems.
  • Review and prepare evaluation documentation including evaluation proposals, evaluation plans including resource schedules and budgets, input into tender responses, and internal evaluation reports (draft, interim, final) including recommendations for change.
  • Collaborate with service area leaders to create a positive and proactive evaluation culture throughout yourtown.
  • Effectively lead and inspire evaluations and a team of evaluators.
  • Contribute constructively to advancing the goals and objectives of the broader Advocacy and Research division and yourtown as a whole.

Role requirements:

  • Postgraduate level qualifications and a minimum of six years experience in senior evaluation position.
  • Demonstrated high-level evaluation in NGO, public or private sectors, including leading; complex ethics documentation, approvals, and application within evaluations.
  • Demonstrated project management experience including implementation and use of recognised tools and approaches within evaluation teams.
  • Highly developed stakeholder communication skills (written and oral) including demonstrated ability to develop and present key messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Thorough understanding of the role evaluations have in improving service delivery outcomes.
  • Excellent judgment and demonstrated ability to uphold and live the values of yourtown.
