Intake and Administration Officer

The Intake and Administration Officer is the first point of contact for all potential clients, their families and referring representatives. You will work across a range of programs and will provide a responsive and professional service to support clients to move through the pre-engagement process to service engagement.

Your day to day will involve:

  • Respond to clients and referring agency representatives in a timely and courteous manner
  • Determine potential clients’ eligibility for services, referring to other more relevant services if required
  • Conduct initial screening assessment and identify any immediate risks, supporting clients to access crisis supports where required
  • Monitor program wait lists and liaise with program managers and senior staff to ensure a seamless transition between wait list and program commencement
  • Complete administration processes for case files and organisational records
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain knowledge of the local service sector and network relationships with key referrers

About you:

Successful candidates will bring:

  • Diploma level qualifications in a Human Services Discipline and a minimum of two years’ experience undertaking intakes in a community services environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of the diverse range of issues impacting families
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and participate in networks for the delivery of services to children and families
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication, including a well presented and appropriate phone manner and the ability to impart knowledge clearly and effectively
  • Demonstrated competence with MS Office, client record management systems and office technology
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
