Parentline is an established confidential telephone and online service, providing professional counselling and support to parents and carers in Queensland and the Northern Territory. The program operates 7 days a week between 8am and 10pm (local time) and has a focus on providing support to parents and carers of children aged between 0-8 years.

The Cyberbullying Consultant is a newly created role in response to the Queensland Anti-Cyberbullying Taskforce Report to help tackle the issue of cyberbullying. The Consultant will design and deliver training to Parentline and Kids Helpline Counsellors; develop and facilitate education to parents and carers across Qld; and develop evidence based resources for the Parentline website and distribution to parents and carers.

You should have bachelor level qualifications in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Counselling etc and relevant experience in community services. You will be a confident public speaker and have experience in the delivery of training and adult education strategies. Strong research skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across a variety of stakeholders is essential. Previous experience in relation to cyberbullying and online safety and experience in engaging with the media is preferred. You will be engaging with parents and carers using a variety of online platforms so must be comfortable working with technology.

We are looking to interview prior to Christmas with the position to start in the New Year.
