We are seeking experienced Carer Support Professionals to join our growing organisation on a permanent full-time basis. As a Community Services Consultant you will provide service coordination, conduct assessments, and carry out coaching and peer support activities for people through the Carer Gateway program. You will support carers, working in partnership with them, to enhance their quality of life, connect them with support services, and develop their peer networks.

About You:

• Certificate IV (or working towards) or a degree in a related field and/or experience working within the ageing, disability or mental health sectors.
• Demonstrated understanding of contemporary aged, disability and/or mental health practice.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of older people and/or people with a disability/mental health issue, and their carers
• Demonstrated skill set in coaching individuals to achieve goals
• Previous experience in a high volume customer service role would support success
• Understanding of the needs of diverse communities such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), and gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) communities
• Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office

Flexibility

We are hiring for multiple roles on a full-time basis. During the pandemic restrictions, we are supporting employees to work from home, however this role will be office based at our Chatswood office once restrictions are lifted. There will also be opportunity for flexible working from home arrangements on an ongoing basis.
