YCS is a small family run support service based in Brisbane Westside. We provide Self-care (daily activities), centre based support , SIL, Support Coordination and STA. We form close and positive relationships with staff and Participants and so will be looking for someone who wants to be part of this relationship and commit to a lengthy employment.

Role 1: This role would suit an active person who has an interest in sports, trains and can relate to a young man. The role involves morning, afternoon shifts and some sleepovers as we provide 24/7 support to a young man in his own home.

The successful applicant will need a positive and outgoing personality who is happy to engage in conversation and physical activity. The successful applicant will have proven experience of working with adults with ASD and mental health issues.

Role 2: The role involves morning, afternoon shifts and some sleepovers as we provide 24/7 support to a young man in his own home in the forest Lake area. There is a large personal care component to this role and the successful candidate need to be empathic and calm. Previous experience experience of working with visually impaired persons would be an advantage.

For both roles, there is the opportunity to work additional hours in the in-home section of the service. There would also be an opportunity to work casual hours as available in the skills centre based at Forest Lake.

Mandatory requirements are:

1. Current First Aid and CPR
2. Yellow and blue card
3. Minimum green P
4. Own vehicle as you may need to transport Participants in your vehicle (this is reimbursed at $0.66/km)
5. 1 year paid or lived experience of direct disability support particularly ASD and mental health.
6. Be physically fit enough to engage in physical activities such as basketball and soccer.

Preferred requirements

1. Completed a Midazolam administration course
2. Be willing to drive a long wheel base bus with Participants
