About the Role

This position is an exciting opportunity to join our People Systems Integration project in a newly created role for a fixed term contract period of 12 months. Our head office is based in Box Hill but we are currently working from home 4 days per week until further notice.

As the HR Business Partner – Employee Relations, you will:

  • Collaborate with senior management to address, respond to, and effectively resolve a wide range of people management issues.
  • Provide insightful participation and engagement regarding employee relations, remuneration, investigations, organisational development activities, manager development, workforce planning and other HR matters.
  • Provide specialist support and advice on complex Employee Relations matters.
  • Develop and implement a wide range of People and Culture projects and strategies with a focus on Employee Relations, to ensure the YMCA has a valued productive workforce.
  • Effectively and proactively identify and assess risks associated with the YMCA workforce.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree and/or Post graduate qualifications in Human Resources Management, Employee Relations or relevant field.
  • Extensive experience in Human Resources and Employee Relations or a related function including demonstrated experience business partnering with senior managers and executives.
  • Strong understanding of Industrial and Employee Relations Legislation; Awards, EBAs and best practice people management.
  • Experience across all aspects of the employment lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience advising managers and senior managers to resolve complex employee relations matters (e.g. bullying, serious misconduct, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting organisation with change management, including organisational design and development, workflow design and redeployment/redundancy.

All candidates will be required to undertake background and probity checks including Reference Checks, a Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
