Youth Outreach Worker - Central Coast

We are currently seeking a Youth Outreach worker to join our team on a part-time basis for 12 months with possibility of a further 12 month extension.  

About your new role

The Youth Worker will work with young people in San Remo and Lake Haven and deliver our Streetgym Program. Streetgym is a youth program run in public parks and reserves, aimed at youth aged 12+, which uses sports and fitness activities to connect with and support potentially at risk youth. We provide a safe space and an opportunity for the young people to connect with youth workers and other supportive organisations.

This is a truly rewarding and rare position for someone who is passionate about working with young people as we are here at the Y!

To be successful in this role you to have:

  • Working with Children Check
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Qualifications in Youth Work, Community Services or related field
  • Experience with assisting and supporting young people with complex issues, in group settings and one on one
  • Ability and passion to work independently, as well as in a team to motivate, empower and support young people and a team of volunteers
  • Confidence in working with young people to develop meaningful initiatives on a local level

  • Two reference checks.
