Many Rivers Regional Housing (Many Rivers) is seeking an ambitious Deputy CEO. This is a varied role with plenty of scope to effect real change in the community, bringing positive outcomes for tenants, our partners and Many Rivers.

This is an Aboriginal identified role and the successful candidate will be asked to provide confirmation of his or her Aboriginality.

Who are we?

Located in Port Macquarie, Many Rivers is a leading not-for-profit provider of Aboriginal community housing services providing property management services for around 450 properties and support for the needs of tenants.

Our vision is to Close the Gap in Aboriginal wellbeing through housing, partnerships and community development.

The role

Reporting to the CEO, in this role you will provide cultural leadership, championing and embedding respect and recognition of Aboriginal cultures within Many Rivers and the community. You will also lead Aboriginal participation in workforce growth and development, Aboriginal procurement and membership engagement.

Key objectives of the Deputy CEO position include:

  • Build strong and productive relationships with owners, Aboriginal community and the team
  • Contribute to the leadership, management and operation of the organisation including housing and tenancy management services, governance, compliance, finance and resource management and strategic planning
  • Management of the delivery senior level projects including infrastructure and upgrade projects

You will need to demonstrate strong contemporary knowledge of Aboriginal culture, aspirations and self-determination and also the ability to provide cultural leadership across the organisation, among stakeholders and community.

If you also have:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Proven commercial management skills including managing budgets and financial reporting
  • Ability to build strong and productive relationships with communities
  • Experience in effectively leading services and/or projects including building partnerships with regulators and government agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, to mentor and empower staff and to build a culture of engagement and success
  • Current valid Driver’s license, minimum of Class “C” or equivalent
