About the job

  • Role location: Jimboomba
  • Role type: Maximum term part-time 24 hours a week until 30 June 2021
  • Pay range: $83,046 – $86,805 a year (pro rata) based on experience, with salary sacrificing available

We are looking for a highly skilled worker who is passionate about women and children’s safety to join YFS’ Domestic and Family Violence Service. The service provides crisis response, counselling within a case management framework, specialised counselling for children, court support and home safety upgrades across Beaudesert and surrounding areas. This position will also work alongside our Responsible Men program (Logan and surrounding areas).

In this job, you’ll work alongside women experiencing domestic and family violence, empowering them to make decisions and take steps towards a future free of violence. You’ll provide advocacy, crisis response and case work, initial and ongoing assessment of risk and safety, and information, advice and referral to internal and external services across Beaudesert, Jimboomba and Logan including one day per week of court-based services at Beaudesert Court. You will:

  • demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting women and children including evidence in practice of your understanding of gendered base violence
  • be confident, competent, and able to work fast while prioritising the safety of our clients
  • be a team player.
