A bit about the role:

We are committed to building a robust early years’ service system to improve the outcomes for children experiencing vulnerability and their families in the City of Wyndham. We are looking for a Best Start Project Officer who can assist.

The Best Start Project Officer will engage and work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to support them to develop small changes and practices to increase access and participation to Early Years services in our community.

What you’ll deliver:

  • Lead the implementation of the Best Start Program
  • Engage and build partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Facilitate working groups and driving positive outcomes for all
  • Contribute to the completion of quarterly and annual reports and other data requirements for the Department of Education and Training portal
  • Build effective working relationships with all identified stakeholders

What you’ll bring:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience
  • A clear understanding of the issues facing vulnerable families in our community and the supports and services that are available to support them
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities together with a continuous improvement mindset focused on positive outcomes for the community
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
  • An ability to facilitate conversations and lead work towards the Best Start outcomes
  • An understanding of improvement sciences, with the ability to identify and analyse data
  • Relevant experience in a discipline such as human services, health, welfare, community development or early childhood areas, social sciences or related field
  • Ability to work with a variety of IT programs / platforms
  • A positive, curious and flexible mind
