The Wycheproof Community Resource Centre (WCRC) is a not-for-profit neighbourhood house and Learn Local provider situated in the town of Wycheproof. The WCRC developed initially because of the isolation many women in the community were experiencing during a time of economic downturn. The WCRC has now expanded its range of activities to include all sections of the community. 

about the role

Wycheproof Community Resource Centre is seeking a dynamic and community-minded individual who wants to make Wycheproof and surrounds an even better place to live and work.

This challenging but rewarding role is an exciting opportunity to lead a small team in developing and managing a well-established and growing not-for-profit community organisation.

This position is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of the WCRC programs and activities. The Manager is responsible to the WCRC Committee of Management (CoM) for the operation, management and development of the WCRC and for ensuring that WCRC is operated in accordance with the Committee’s policy decisions, relevant legislation and the service agreements with funding bodies.

Reporting to the Committee of Management, the Centre Manager is a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills, leadership qualities and a passion for working alongside the community.

Experience in a community-based role and a knowledge of community development principals are highly regarded.

selection criteria

  • Knowledge of and commitment to community development and adult education principles and strategies 
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification (ie. Community Development, Education, Management) and/or demonstrated experience in the community development field
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, monitor and evaluate programs and activities that respond to community needs
  • Ability to communicate with, and relate to, a wide range of people through highly developed written, oral communication and negotiation skills
  • Administrative and organisational skills including experience in using Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook), the internet, email and the ability to learn new software
  • Maturity, initiative and problem solving skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise with minimal supervision
