Women with Disabilities ACT (WWDACT) is looking for an enthusiastic Chief Executive Officer to join our team.

About WWDACT:

Women With Disabilities ACT (WWDACT) is a systemic advocacy and peer support organisation for women, girls, non-binary and feminine identifying people with disabilities in the ACT and region. WWDACT follows a human rights philosophy, based on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). WWDACT is a Disabled People’s Organisation (DPO), governed by women with disabilities, and its proposals and recommendations to government are consistent with Article 4(3), and Article 29 of CRPD.

WWDACT works with government and non-government organisations to improve the status and lives of women with disabilities in the ACT and surrounding region. Our priority areas include: equity, health, violence prevention, environmental safety and housing. Our membership is free to all women, girls, non-binary and feminine identifying people with disability in the ACT region.

The Role:

The CEO works independently with guidance from the WWDACT Board via the WWDACT Chair. The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for office administration; the recruitment and management of staff; overseeing management of financial reports; and providing secretariat support to the Board.

Hours for this position are part time at 0.625 FTE or 25 hours per week (plus superannuation) at Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHCADS) Award Grade 5.3; remunerated on a rate of $42.48 /hour. This position is ongoing subject to funding.

About You:

This role will be suited to someone experienced in business management and/or program/project management. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator with a passion for social justice. Experience working with people with disabilities, women, and other diverse groups is desirable. A current working with vulnerable people card and/or police check is essential.
