Welfare Rights & Advocacy Service is an independent community legal centre specialising in Social Security law. We receive funding from the Commonwealth and State Governments. The service is a not-for-profit charity. We are looking to employ an administrative officer on a fixed term part time basis to 30/06/2023. Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
Salary and Conditions
- Part-time position, 38 hours per fortnight.
- Fixed term contract up to 30 June 2023.
- Pro Rata $64,485 - $67,406 SACS Award WA CSW 3.
- Salary and Conditions as per the TLC Emergency Welfare Foundation of Western Australia (Inc.) EBA.
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in customer/client service, including assisting people from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to organise, prioritise and undertake a range of administrative tasks and clerical duties with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to social justice issues, particularly for those experiencing economic and social disadvantage and lack of access to legal services.
- Demonstrated data entry and database experience.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
Desirable
- Experience working in a legal setting or community organisation.
- Ability to work in a small team setting comprising solicitors, advocates, volunteers, Board Members, and visitors to the service.
- Flexibility and a sense of humour.
