Independent Board Director (Voluntary)

Wounds Australia

Almost half a million Australians are directly affected by chronic wounds. The direct costs of wound care to the Australian healthcare system have been conservatively estimated at $3 billion each year. Wounds Australia is Australia’s peak body for wound care and prevention, with a vision to reduce the harm caused by wounds.

About Us

Wounds Australia is a membership-based organisation that was first established in 1994 as an association of member states and territories before nationalising in 2015. Wounds Australia has over 3000 members who are drawn from the disciplines of nursing, medicine, pharmacy, podiatry, aged care, allied health and the sciences across Australia, as well as organisations providing wound products or services. We are a company limited by guarantee and a health promotion charity.

We work to improve wound care and prevention through advocacy, public awareness campaigns, education and research.
