Reporting to the Manager, Program Development and Effectiveness Team, we are seeking a Youth Technical Program Manager to lead the development of the Australia First Nations Program Youth Technical Program drawing on our Education for Life technical approach, international and Australian project models and examples of best and innovative practice.

The Youth Technical Program Manager is expected to make an important contribution to the development of World Vision’s evidence base for our field programs in Australia through supporting the design, monitoring and evaluation of projects as well as supporting relevant grant and funding opportunities.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Working with Program Managers, technical advisors and youth project implementation teams in the field to adapt the Youth Technical Program to local contexts
• Ensuring all youth project designs, and their monitoring and evaluation frameworks and processes continue to be responsive to local contexts
• Advising field staff in the use of monitoring tools, data collection, the use of reflective practice to drive project improvements and accurately tracking progress towards outcomes. 
• Supporting the development of new work through grants, co-design processes and collaborating with policy, advocacy and marketing teams
• Ensuring all projects are aligned with World Vision’s Development Programming Approach, its focus on impact, and its global monitoring and evaluation frameworks

In addition, this role supports the development of the Annual Reports to the World Vision leadership group as well as communications materials related to project impact developed to engage our supporters.

Your skills and experience will include:

• Working with remote, regional and/or urban First Nations communities and/or other disadvantaged communities in a cross- cultural context
• Good understanding of Indigenous affairs in Australia
• Leading program design, monitoring and evaluation
• Technical expertise in youth development programming
• High level stakeholder relations and working in partnership
• Tertiary qualifications in Youth Development/Design Monitoring and Evaluation

What you need to know

This role is a permanent position operating in a full-time capacity and can be based in our state office in Sydney or in our head office in Melbourne. Other locations may be possible depending on the candidate.

This role requires occasional travel for field-based activity with project teams in the West Kimberley region, Sydney, and the Hunter Valley. Other travel may be required domestically but will be negotiated depending on team requirements, program development and funding opportunities.
