We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research and Evaluation Advisor to join World Vision Australia (WVA). In this full time role, you will be accountable for leading the development & implementation of the Monitoring & Evaluation framework for our Australia First Nations Program (AFNP).

This role will provide support to technical advisors contracting and managing evaluation consultants, leading new research into areas of work, supporting the gathering of relevant evidence in the First Nations context to support programming decisions, organisational direction and leadership decision-making.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Program Development - Supporting the development of grants and funding applications in particular around project M&E and outcomes frameworks. Design, monitoring and evaluation activities related to innovative programming initiatives as identified by the Manager.
  • Program Effectiveness- Leading and further developing the Australia First Nations Program reporting process – Annual Reports, key organisations reports, tailored donor reports  and working collaboratively with program managers and technical staff.
  • Research - Develop written material to support the evidence base of the program and lead writing and research on key areas of relevance for the program and lead research processes that feed into grant applications.
  • Supporter Engagement- Working collaboratively with Marketing Department to facilitate stories of change and project impact within program and provide field insights and briefings to WVA Supporter facing teams to build their capacity to source funding for the program

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Strong experience in design monitoring and evaluation preferably in the Australian context
  • Strong experience in the development and implementation of action research type projects preferably in the Australia First Nations context
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis
  • Knowledge of the community development sector preferably in the Australian First Nations context
  • Experience with delivering and coordinating evaluations in the context of First Nations populations and sectors
  • Degree in relevant field with strong social research content
  • Post Graduate Qualifications in Design Monitoring and Evaluation/research methods/ social sciences/ development (desirable)
