The Australia First Nations Program has a First Nations staff network that acts as a support network and safe space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff who are separated by distance but connected by culture. The network also provides advice to the Australia First Nations Program and the broader WV organisation regarding our work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, communities and families.
As the project manager for Channels of Hope for Gender (CoHG) you will be responsible for managing the successful implementation of the project in the Lajamanu community with the expansion of the project to one other community likely to take place in 2020.
This will entail working closely with World Visions Faith and Development Advisor and Research and Evaluation Advisor from the Program Development & Effectiveness team to ensure that the project activities:
Channels of Hope for Gender (CoHG) is a program model that World Vision has adapted and used in several countries around the world to facilitate a faith based response to domestic and family violence which ultimately impacts the broader well-being of children.
As the successful applicant, you will have demonstrated professional experience working with remote Aboriginal communities, preferably within a community development context, facilitating community workshops, working in cross-cultural teams to deliver results and experience in providing mentoring, training and support.
