Junior Security Analyst

Reporting to the Information Security Manager, you will be in charge of:

  • Day to day administration of Information Security Controls at World Vision Australia.
  • Development of new security monitoring capabilities.
  • Investigation of security events and incidents.
  • Execution of security and compliance tasks in a timely manner.

As Security Analyst, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Ensure centralised log management covers all WVA assets and logs are normalised for easy searching and archiving
  • Create new reports, alerts and dashboards to automate log review
  • Develop and maintain incident response runbooks and ensure security events and alerts are responded to appropriately
  • Assist with the implementation of new Security technologies, systems and supporting processes
  • Ongoing management of the Security technologies, systems and supporting processes
  • Gather data to assist with the reporting of key performance indicators, key risk indicators and security control effectiveness
  • Create and maintain security procedural documentation
  • Initiate and coordinate 3rd Party Vendor Security Management:
  • Keep abreast of new attacker techniques and tactics that may impact WVA security
  • Monitor new vulnerabilities and exploits published that may impact WVA security
  • Work with other IT teams to help prioritise the rollout of security patches
  • Security Asset and Access Review

Who we are looking for…

  • First experience in a technical role within an IT team (as helpdesk support or Network Engineer or in an Application development role)
  • Experience with security logs analysis and tools; administering network and systems; security standards and frameworks
  • An understanding of scripting languages
  • Good communication skills
  • Personable and team player
  • Willingness to learn from others
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Security Certifications and degrees will be highly considered but not a requirement. (Security+, Network+, CCNA)

This role is a permanent position operating in a full-time capacity and will be based at our head office in Burwood East, Victoria.
