The Grants and Communications advisor is responsible for managing our grant acquisition pipeline and for writing high-quality grant/tender proposals, reports and project briefs through

• Working closely with the Senior Business Advisor to scope future grant opportunities and keeping the grant acquisition pipeline up to date
• Developing a detailed understanding of core project models, developing project briefs, impact reports and communications to support fundraising and the communication of impact
• Working collaboratively with Technical Advisors, Program and Project Managers to prepare high quality proposals, project briefs and communications pieces 
• Working collaboratively with the Operations Manager, Operations Coordinator and project teams to develop budgets for Grant/Tender proposals and undertake income tracking
• Developing productive relationships and being a key point of contact for Australian First Nations Program with internal World Vision stakeholders in the impact hub, marketing, private funding and public affairs teams
• Developing a productive relationship with the Impact Hub and supporting its efforts to communicate credible stories of impact to donors and other stakeholders

A typical day will include:

• Undertaking desk top research and scanning for grant/tender opportunities;
• Working alongside the Senior Business Advisor to develop relationships with relevant government stakeholders to assist with forecasting and application planning;
• Updating the lead team on these opportunities each month;
• Joining team discussions to understand the nuances of projects on the ground;
• Interpreting grant/tender requirements and through the senior business development advisor providing go/no go recommendations to the Lead team;
• Developing project briefs, business cases, concept notes and impact reports on a regular basis.

A typical day will also see you being a key point of contact for the Australia First Nations Program with internal World Vision stakeholders in the impact hub, marketing, private funding and public affairs teams and managing the collection of images, stories, videos to ensure they have is a steady high-quality pipeline of content. Occasionally this would also include visits to the field to engage in this work in collaboration with these teams on the ground.

Who we are looking for…

• Tertiary level qualification in research, communications, business writing or a related discipline
• Track record in writing successful grant and tender proposals in the community development/human service sectors
• Experience in facilitating collaborative approach to preparing successful grant/tender submissions
• Track record in business writing and the development of business cases, impact reports, concept notes and project briefs
• An understanding of community development as it relates to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, youth and families
• Excellent written and Highly effective verbal communication skills and ability to use these to engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders
• Highly effective desk top research, analytical skills and the ability to interpret grant requirements, existing evidence base and identify key projects/project models that can be positioned to fit requirements
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
• Time management with ability to work productively under pressure and meet deadlines;

This role is a permanent position operating in a full-time capacity and will be based at our head office in Burwood East, Victoria.
