The Opportunity to be a Changemaker…

The Country Impact Manager (CIM) will lead World Vision Australia (WVA)’s relationship with  World Vision National Office/s (NO) including overseeing the management of the full portfolio of projects within that office that are funded through WVA. In addition,

  • Strategic engagement with WV NOs and implementation partners, including design, evaluation & stand-up of grant projects and Area Programs, as appropriate
  • Strategic engagement with NO within forums such as Strategy Support Teams (SST) / Program Support Teams (PST) / SP as required. 
  • When applicable, engage and influence the relevant Country Strategy Implementation Plan (CSIP) development and associated processes to the support NOs and promote, where appropriate to the CSIP, alignment with WVA strategic priorities
  • Actively contribute to the 5 yearly Program Capacity Performance Review for NO within the portfolio
  • Ensure Portfolio is fully compliant and managed to the highest quality, establishing a platform for enhanced engagement with institutional donors, Partner agencies, Corporates, individual supporters and Major Donors
  • Support WVA acquisition of institutional and non-institutional grants as a key contributor
  • Contribution to the development and refinement of key grant and project management processes, tools and resources, including, as appropriate, for the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) portfolio.
  • Support peer CIM from other team to respond to Category I and II humanitarian emergencies through the “buddy system” and group training; Ensure peer CIMs have sufficient knowledge in humanitarian operations
  • Lead any Cat III emergency within the assigned region
  • Australia side project management of any World Food Programme (WFP) funded projects within the portfolio and ensure timely engagement according to contractual obligations, including performing the function of Coordinating Partner (CP) for countries signed up by World Vision Australia
  • Actively understand the action NO is taking on WV and DFAT policies on safeguarding, source the NO annual Safeguarding Incidence Preparedness Plan (SIPP) and monitor the implementation of the associated workplan. Also provide inputs where possible to WVA’s annual Safeguarding Update Report.
  • Collaboration with key internal stakeholders including Field Impact, Marketing, Private Funding and Retail to contribute to delivery of Enterprise Business Plan, to coordinate engagement with National Offices and be called on for technical support

The role will be required to build collaborative relationships across WVA and engage and support a number of internal and external stakeholders to support WVA’s evolution as an Impact Business.

Who we are looking for…

  • Strong experience in managing humanitarian operations in fragile contexts
  • Understand and adherence to Humanitarian Principles, disaster management cycle, project cycle, Red Cross / Red Crescent Code of Conduct and other international Standards in Humanitarian operations
  • Understand of humanitarian coordination mechanisms and the international humanitarian system, including but not limited to  donors funding mechanism, understanding emerging models of partnering between NGOs and government/ international organisations, and localisations.
  • Program management experience, including the development and communication of results 
  • Experience in delivering Training, resource development and capacity building
  • Account management or commercial experience in identifying or developing further opportunities 
  • Significant understanding of procurement or grants structures and processes of the Australian Government, public service, and/or other international organisations. Knowledge of DFAT, AHP and the requirements of the ANCP Program is helpful 
  • Self-managed work experience, with ability to maintain focus and achieve outcomes under pressure 
  • 20-30% of frequency of travel: current passport, and willingness to travel as required, including travel to fragile contexts as per the geographic portfolio
