We are seeking a Coordinator, Child & Adult Safeguarding to join our team at World Vision Australia on a full time fixed-term basis (12 months with possible extension)

The Coordinator, Child and Adult Safeguarding supports the day to day activities of the WVA Safeguarding team to ensure that WVA is a Child Safe organisation and fulfills its mission to protect the children and adult beneficiaries it serves.

This role assists World Vision Australia to effectively implement a range of initiatives relating to the implementation of the organisations Child & Adult Safeguarding Policy & Guidelines and works closely with the Manager, Child & Adult Safeguarding and other business stakeholders to ensure that WVA meets its legislative, regulatory and donor compliance and reporting requirements. The role will also assist with incident management and reporting.

The Coordinator, Child & Adult Safeguarding role supports the Safeguarding team to operate effectively through providing coordination and support for following Safeguarding activities:

  • Policy Implementation & Advice
  • Compliance & Capacity Building
  • Safeguarding Incidents & Reporting
  • Training & Awareness Raising

Who we are looking for…

We are looking for someone with foundational knowledge and a genuine interest in child & adult safeguarding in either an international NGO setting or child focused NFP environment who has experience in providing coordination and project delivery support and who is proactive, keen to learn and able to take initiative to support the Safeguarding team to deliver its annual workplan and ensure that World Vision Australia meets its Safeguarding requirements.

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Previous experience working in a coordinator or administrator position.
  • Ability to review, understand and apply policies to complex situations and provide advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Project coordination, updating projects plans and overseeing the completion of actions to timeframes.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with all parts of the business and assist in identifying and organising the completion of task and initiatives.
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, able to work with colleagues and leaders across the organisation.
  • Excellent written communication skills, able to complete written reports for internal and external stakeholder groups and regulators with guidance.
  • Resilient and able to remain a calm, taking a steady and pragmatic approach to challenging subject matter and situations.
  • Manage confidential and sensitive information with integrity and discretion
  • Tech savvy, confident with Office 365 and able to learn Ethics Point case management system.
