Rural Workforce Agency NT are partnering with Central Australian Aboriginal Congress (Congress) to find Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Registered and Enrolled Nurses to join their passionate teams across their Alice Springs and remote clinics.

Congress operates Health Services in and nearby Alice Springs including remote communities in Amoonguna, Mutitjulu, Ntaria, Santa Teresa and Utju, as well as offering support through an after-hours clinic, Headspace, Alcohol and other drugs and Mental Health. These services provide support for the social, emotional, cultural and physical wellbeing of Aboriginal people.

Being successful in the role, you will be able to work within a multidisciplinary team, have a high level of cultural understanding and sensitivity, whilst providing high quality and professional clinical care to Congress clients.

Your Responsibilities: 

  • General healthcare assessments
  • Administer pharmaceutical therapies as required
  • Provide health promotion and education to presenting clients
  • Liaise with other Community based health programs to deliver effective patient care
  • Provide and coordinate culturally safe care to all clients and staff

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Unrestricted working rights within Australia
  • Current AHPRA registration as an AHP, RN or EN
  • Current About Giving Vaccines (AGV) or equivalent, or willingness to acquire
  • Broad clinical experience in a primary or acute health care setting 
  • Proven skills in planning, coordinating and decision making
  • Understanding and commitment to improving Aboriginal health outcomes
  • Experience in a remote primary health care setting desired
  • Applications from Aboriginal people are highly regarded

  • Employment with Congress is conditional on the employee providing NT Working with Children Check (Ochre Card), Satisfactory Criminal History Check.
  • Employee interaction with residents within communities will be taken into account as part of the final performance assessment during the probation period.
