Have you ever wanted to become a tour guide? We are looking for casual guides who are passionate science communicators to join our small team.

The Woodlands and Wetlands Trust is a not for profit organisation that looks after two reserves in the ACT - Mulligans Flat in Gungahlin and Jerrabomberra Wetlands in Fyshwick. Part of our passion is communicating environmental conservation to the local community. We run various day and night tours across both reserves telling our story.

Our ideal candidate would have experience in public speaking and working with diverse age groups. You would need to feel comfortable taking groups of people into the bush both day and night. Ideally you will be able to work during the day with school groups.

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Experience presenting to groups of people
  • Willingness to learn, try new things and go outside your comfort zone
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Flexible availability
  • Adaptable – can work under pressure or last-minute changes
  • Working with Vulnerable People card – or willingness to obtain

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:

  • Previous experience working with children
  • Own transport
  • Full first aid certificate – or willingness to obtain one

Our casual guides work between 2 – 20 hours a week. Must be available to work in school holidays and after hours.
