About the Role

Joining our legal and policy team, you will work collaboratively to address systemic issues in law and policy, including thorough strategic casework. You will also provide high-quality legal advice, duty lawyer assistance and representation in complex family law matters, both parenting and property, and in child protection.

About You

You are a driven, motivated self-starter who has the ability to work autonomously to deliver results that exceed the client's expectations. You have high attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with people quickly.

Key to your success is your:

  • strong understanding of family law and/or child protection and intersecting jurisdictions
  • confidence in appearance work
  • good organisational and time management skills, and the ability to manage changing priorities
  • understanding of the gendered nature and impact of family violence

This is fixed-term position for a period of 2 years at full time or part time (0.6EFT) status - negotiable.

Qualifications and Experience

You will have:

  • A Bachelor of Laws Degree and be either admitted or eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in Victoria
  • A minimum of two years post admission experience in family law and/or child protection, in particular in litigation
