About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Policy and Campaigns, you will be joining a multi-disciplinary team where you will provide high-quality financial counselling to clients that are facing complex family law matters. This position provides confidential financial counselling, information, assistance and referrals to clients experiencing financial difficulties. You will also work collaboratively to address systemic issues in law and policy.

This is a part time maternity leave replacement position at 0.6EFT (3 day per week), fixed term for 12 months.

About You

You are a driven, motivated self-starter who has the ability to work autonomously to deliver optimal outcomes for women. You have high attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with people quickly.
Key to your success is your:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing financial counselling
  • Demonstrated capacity to advocate and negotiate on behalf of clients
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, and the ability to manage changing priorities
  • Understanding of the gendered nature and impact of family violence

Qualifications and Experience

You will have:

  • A Diploma in Community Services (Financial Counselling)
  • Membership, or eligibility to be a member of Financial and Consumer Rights Council (FCRC)

It would be highly desirable to have experience in family violence financial counselling.
