Women’s Health West (WHW) is the women’s health service for the western metropolitan region of Melbourne. We focus on supporting women and their children to lead safe and healthy lives and on changing the conditions that cause and maintain inequity and injustice. Our health promotion program plans and implements activities designed to promote women’s health, safety and wellbeing across the areas of sexual and reproductive health, mental health and the prevention of violence and discrimination.

The Sunrise Program Facilitator – Disability role collaborates with the Sunrise Program Coordinator to plan and facilitate social groups in the western metropolitan region for women with disabilities. We are looking for an applicant with the capability to perform the following key areas of the role:

  • Plan, facilitate, and resource the Sunrise groups in a way that encourages members to take control of their health and wellbeing.
  • Consult with Sunrise group members to design a calendar of events and activities that are relevant and responsive to the women’s diverse needs.
  • Become familiar with the group members’ individual plans (to understand and support women to meet their personal goals).
  • Contribute to the Sunrise Program’s communication and promotion strategy to recruit women with a disability who experience marginalisation and disadvantage in Melbourne’s west.

The facilitator position is available on an ongoing basis. This role is part-time at 38 hours per fortnight until 31 October 2021, and then part-time at 22.8 hours per fortnight thereafter. The role reports to the Manager - Primary Prevention. The role is paid at WHW EA 2017 Level 5, pay point negotiable dependent on experience (80K to 84K per annum pro rata EFT).
