ABOUT THE ORANGE DOOR

The Orange Door service brings together different practices and services, providing a consolidated intake point and whole of family approach. Key aims include increasing the safety and wellbeing of family violence victim survivors and holding perpetrators accountable for their behaviour. Specialised training and the opportunity to upskill will be provided.

The Specialist Family Violence Senior Practitioner will be employed by GenWest and initially located in our Footscray office, before transitioning to one of the new The Orange Door Hubs at either Melton, Sunshine or Werribee from September 2022.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking Specialist Family Violence Senior Practitioners to join this growing team of skilled professionals. The role will report directly to The Orange Door Team Leader and work closely with the Specialist Family Violence Practitioners.

Specialist Family Violence Senior Practitioners are responsible for triaging referrals, conducting family violence risk assessments and safety planning as well as mentoring Practitioners and providing secondary consultation to professional services.

These positions are available on either a full time or part time (0.9 EFT) basis and paid at GenWest EA Level 6 pay point negotiable dependent on experience (ranges from $92,694.16 - $96,804.24) pro rata EFT + 10% superannuation.

Please note: As per the Mandatory Minimum Qualifications for Specialist Family Violence Practitioners, to be eligible for this position you will hold a tertiary qualification in Social Work, or equivalent qualification. Applicants with a relevant qualification, or a minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience, or significant cultural knowledge will be required to work towards an equivalent qualification with specified timeframes. All appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate conducted by the Victoria Police and a Working with Children Check. You also need to provide international police check if you have worked overseas within the last ten years for a minimum of twelve months and provide a COVID-19 vaccination history or authorised medical exemption.
