ABOUT GENWEST

GenWest (formally Women’s Health West) is the gender equity agency for the western metropolitan region of Melbourne, located at Footscray and employs over 150 staff across gender equity and family violence services.

Our programs and services are designed to redress gender inequity and benefit victim-survivors of family violence in Melbourne’s west. Our efforts are ultimately about supporting our communities to lead safe and healthy lives, and on changing the conditions that cause and maintain gender inequity. Due to staff change, we currently have available a full-time permanent Manager - People and Culture position available for an experienced human resource professional.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager - People and Culture is positioned within the leadership team and reports to the Business Operations Director. The Manager - People and Culture leads the organisation’s human resource service across the full human resource scope, actively delivering against the organisation strategic objectives and goals and manage workforce risk and compliance.

The Manager – People and Culture will lead a team of five, across generalist HR, payroll, Learning and Development and Projects. The scope of responsibilities for the Manager, People and Culture include, but are not limited to:

  • Culture and workforce strategic and operational planning
  • Talent management and capability building
  • Employee relations
  • Industrial relations and employment compliance
  • Inclusion and diversity
  • Occupational health and safety
  • Payroll and budget
  • Project management, continuous improvement, and reporting
  • Staff leadership

The position is available on a full-time basis and paid at WHW EA Level 8 pay point negotiable dependent on experience (ranges from $108,778.80 - $113,066.72 + 10% superannuation.

All appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate conducted by the Victoria Police and working with children check.
