About Women’s Health West

Women’s Health West provides specialist family violence services to women and their children. We also run prevention programs that promote equity and justice for women and girls in Melbourne’s west.

Our work has actively contributed to improving the health, safety, and wellbeing of women and their children in the western metropolitan region of Melbourne since 1988.

Due to funding partnership with have four part-time fixed-term, six-month health outreach worker positions available to start immediately.

About the role

WHW’s partner, Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health (MCWH) will be leading this project and a consortium of Victorian women’s health organisations. The purpose of the project is to conduct health promotion activities within migrant and refugee communities with a view to engaging women on health and wellbeing issues.

The health research team leader will be required to:

  • Supervise four health outreach workers and meet project deadlines and outcomes
  • Develop and maintain relevant partnerships and relationships with other health agencies, groups, and networks
  • Participate and contribute expertise in organisational and team meetings and planning events as required.
  • Participate in the development, monitoring, and review of a clear work plan that sets out objectives, activities, outcomes, and evaluation methods for this position.
  • Engage in activities and behaviours that actively promote the development of a positive organisational and workplace culture in line with the principles of the organisation and the expectations of WHW’s strategic plan.
  • Work together with the Gen Vic communications officers to collate, edit and develop the project's final report.
