ABOUT WOMEN’S HEALTH WEST

Women’s Health West (WHW) provides specialist family violence services to women and their children. We also run prevention programs that promote equity and justice for women and girls in Melbourne’s west. WHW is one of Victoria’s only organisations that provides services and programs that encompass the family violence continuum - from primary prevention, to early intervention and response.

Our work has actively contributed to improving the health, safety and wellbeing of women and their children in the western metropolitan region of Melbourne since 1988.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Women's Health West is currently looking to appoint two new Outreach case managers to our Integrated Family Violence Services team. These positions are available in an ongoing capacity, with flexible part-time - full-time hours (4-5 days a week).

The case manager - Outreach is responsible for providing client-focused case management support to women experiencing family violence in the western metropolitan region. The program aims to help women break the cycle of violence and achieve sustainable and safe outcomes for themselves and their children. The role also contributes to processes that ensure collaboration and integration across and between organisational programs and services to achieve organisational goals and objectives.

The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate the following capabilities:

  • Assess immediate and ongoing risk of family violence to clients and work with them and other agencies to manage that risk
  • Develop safety strategies and case plans that include housing, legal, health and other assistance to support long-term safety
  • Provide court support and place-based service delivery
  • Work closely with colleagues and external services including Victoria Police, partner agencies and community services

The role reports to the Team Leader - Case Management. The role is paid at WHW EA 2017 level 4, pay point negotiable dependent on experience (69K to 75K per annum pro rata EFT) + 9.5% superannuation.
