Women’s Health West provides specialist family violence services to women and their children. We also run prevention programs that promote equity and justice for women and girls in Melbourne’s west.

Our work has actively contributed to improving the health, safety and wellbeing of women and their children in the western metropolitan region of Melbourne since 1988.

One of our wonderful accountants will be going on maternity leave, and as such we are currently recruiting to fill the position of Accountant on a fixed-term basis.

About the role

The Accountant at WHW is responsible for preparing financial acquittals, maintenance of the organisation’s asset register, Flexible Support Packaging brokerage and processing month-end accruals, pre-payment and general journal entries. They are also responsible for managing the purchase order system, PAYG and work cover remuneration lodgement. The position also assists in review and reconciliation of payroll data in collaboration with our coordinator of payroll. This role interacts with staff across the organisation, and at times is in contact with highly confidential information, which requires the role to keenly comply with organisation privacy and confidentiality practices.

The role reports to the Manager – Finance. The role is available between 1 June 2020 and 16 April 2021, and is remunerated at WHW EA Level 5, pay point negotiable dependent on experience (76K-80K per annum pro rata EFT 0.9).
