About the opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Case Worker to join our Family and Domestic Violence Service. The service focuses on providing support and advocacy – free of charge – to victim survivors of family and domestic violence, with consideration made for the unique needs of those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. With your experience in working with victim survivors of Family and Domestic Violence, you will provide meaningful case management support and advocacy. Ideally you will have experience with CaLD communities and knowledge of trauma informed best practice to contribute in ensuring the ongoing safety and improvement of wellbeing in our clients.

You will be required to manage the Intake and Triage operations and provide overarching support and guidance to the FDV team.

To succeed, you will need

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in social work, cultural studies, family studies or related fields.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in working with and advocating for women and their families affected by FDV.
  • Proven understanding of family and domestic violence issues, community development, outreach work and cultural issues.
  • Experience of working with CaLD communities, particularly CaLD women and children.
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills and experience.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships and linkages with other relevant stakeholders and communities of interest to ensure better outcomes for target group.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Working with Children Check & COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Fluency in a language other than English is desirable.
