Womens Health & Family Services specialises in women’s health issues, providing medical, counselling, drug and alcohol support, domestic violence, mental health and other health services for women and their families. The programs and services at Womens Health & Family Services are open to all West Australian women and their families, with consideration made for the unique needs of Aboriginal, migrant and refugee families.

Womens Health & Family Services is seeking a suitably qualified Coordinator for Children & Family Programs.

This position is part time with an hourly rate starting from $47.88 – $49.87 per hour dependent on experience with attractive salary packaging entitlements and superannuation in a dynamic, forward thinking organisation.

Responsibilities will be to coordinate and support program staff and provide support to the Executive. The position is required to work in collaboration with the Executive, to further develop and document evidence based programs and services to meet the needs of clients and key stakeholders, represent WHFS at meetings where appropriate and necessary and work within the broader community to develop partnerships and collaboration to meet the diverse and complex needs of the client groups and to establish and implement integrated service models.

The role of Coordinator comes with opportunities to work across other service areas within the organisation encouraging professional growth and enhancing leadership skills.

The following Selection Criteria applies to this position:

  1. Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in social work or counselling, cultural studies, family studies or related fields.
  2. Experience working with diverse community groups, particularly Aboriginal and Multicultural communities.
  3. Demonstrated skills and experience in leadership within a multi-disciplinary team.
  4. Demonstrated skills and experience in clinical counselling competencies.
  5. Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate activities pertaining to program area.
  7. Demonstrated ability to design, implement and review relevant policies and protocols pertaining to Standards of Practice in program areas.
  8. Proven ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships and linkages with other relevant stakeholders and communities of interest to ensure better outcomes for target group.
  9. Financial management skills and experience in budget preparation and management.
  10. An understanding of the relevant legislation pertaining to area of practice and programs and a working knowledge of relevant Legislation, Accreditation Standards and Occupational Safety & Health (OSH).
  11. Computer literacy including sound knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft applications, in particular Word and Outlook.
  12. Federal Police Clearance.
  13. Working with Children Check.
