The Role

Western NSW Primary Health Network (WSNW PHN) is currently seeking a motivated individual who has a passion for primary healthcare and an interest in supporting, strengthening and shaping a world-class person-centred Primary Health Care system to join our Integration and Services team as Project Manager – Suicide Prevention.

The Project Manager – Suicide Prevention is responsible for Western NSW Primary Health Network’s Suicide Prevention Projects.  This includes project management of local implementation of the National Suicide Prevention Trial activities and other Suicide Prevention activities as approved in our Activity Work Plans.

The aims of the trial are:

  • To promote the integration of suicide prevention planning, service design and delivery across relevant health and human services, emergency services, schools and community settings;
  • To build the knowledge, confidence and capacity of services and community representatives to work together to plan and deliver high quality, evidence based suicide prevention initiatives in response to local needs;
  • To undertake work in alignment with the Lifespan model/systems based approach to suicide prevention and the recommendations of the 2016 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention Evaluation Project Report;
  • To collect evidence and contribute to the development of knowledge about what strategies are effective in preventing suicide at a local level.

This role is inclusive of all aspects of project management, including: project planning, clarification/documentation of project scope and deliverables, project implementation, monitoring and reporting on project outputs and acquittals, managing project budget, assisting with project evaluation activities and project close out.

These roles will work closely with relevant internal staff and commissioned services providers to facilitate the adoption and implementation of the Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) Cultural Safety and Clinical Governance Frameworks.  

The position can be based in any one of our offices which include Broken Hill, Dubbo or Orange.
