We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join Uniting in this newly created role, leading Supported Independent Living (SIL) service based in St Kilda.
The Team Leader will lead the operational functions of the Supported Independent Living Scottsdale Residential Service which provides a 24 hours per day, 7 days per week residential service funded under NDIS or fee for service. The service is located in St Kilda, is staffed by Mental Health Support Workers and delivers a service that aligns with our Uniting values.
Based on psychosocial principles and the recovery model, the service offers a 15-bed residence staffed 24-hours per day, 7-days per week, on a long-term basis for participants of the program. Working alongside a team of mental health workers, you will provide a specialised service to participants who have an experience of mental illness, as well as supporting their their families & carers in line with Uniting’s values.

With a background in Community Mental Health, you will ideally have 3 years of demonstrated leadership and management experience in a similar service, with an understanding of the NDIS/SIL model.
As a dynamic, solutions-focused leader, you feel confident in introducing and supporting the team to embrace new ways of working for the purpose of improving service delivery. Imperative to this position is a natural ability to bring together, engage and develop a newly formed team, creating a culture that is aligned with Uniting’s values.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Mental Health and/or Welfare is required.
