About the opportunity

The School Focused Youth Service Program supports vulnerable students who are at risk of disengaging from their education. The program aims to ensure that at-risk young people aged 10-18 years are well-supported in their communities and continue to be engaged and connected to education. As a SFYS Coordinator, you will work in partnership with schools and other community organisations to address chronic school absenteeism and prevent students from disengaging from school.

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in both position descriptions, including having relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, welfare or a related discipline.

You will also have:

  • An understanding of the barriers experience by disengaged learners
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the current Victorian Education System
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, developing and managing projects/program initiatives
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships various stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
