About the opportunity

The PRAP Plus support worker role is an outreach role. The worker will engage with clients who are not otherwise supported by housing support programs to prevent homelessness. This will be through providing time-limited outreach interventions to support tenancies, while addressing issues which are contributing to the risk of tenancy breakdown.

The PRAP plus worker will also work to reduce preventable exits from private rental and achieve outcomes that lead to successful, sustainable private rental tenancies.

Position Description

About you

To be successful in this position:

  • You will have knowledge of housing & homelessness sectors with particular emphasis on the Central Highlands Area.
  • You will have excellent customer service skills with proven capacity to engage and develop positive working relationships with people and stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • You will be able to demonstrate an extensive knowledge of the private rental market with understanding for the barriers and challenges experienced by the program’s target client group.
  • You will take a collaborative approach to your work, treat others with dignity & respect. You are  outcome-focused, you set clear pathways and goals and manage time to achieve key outcomes; you are proactive and self-motivated and  maintain a positive attitude through all interactions; you reflect on and learn from experience.
